What Is A Bitcoin Wallet? - The Best Explanation EVER

This is a free sample lesson from 'The Secrets Of The Bitcoin Triangle' course, where you will 'Discover The 21 Fast Track Ways To Make And Save With Bitcoin (Starting From Scratch)'. You can sign up for the full course at: https://www.cryptoversity.com/courses/secrets-of-the-bitcoin-triangle/ A Bitcoin wallet is a piece of software you use to communicate with the Bitcoin network and tell it when you want to send and receive transactions. The best way to understand a Bitcoin wallet is by comparing it to email. Once you have setup an email address you need some kind of software to allow you to send and receive emails to that address. Now this software may be an app on your phone, it may be an app on your laptop or it could even be an app you log into online. With email, you enter the username and password for your email address into the app and that’s how the Internet knows it’s really you that is sending and receive emails to that address. Now of course you tell everyone your email address and you have to do that in order for anyone to send you a message. But just because someone knows your email address, that doesn’t allow them to send email from that address. If they could that would be bad because then they could send emails pretending to be you and cause all kinds of problems. In order to be allowed to send email from a particular email address, you have to know the password. If someone finds out your email password then there’s nothing stopping them from logging in to your email app and sending messages. This is very similar to how a Bitcoin wallet works. Every Bitcoin account has two elements to it. One is called your public address, which is like your email address, and one is called your private key, which is like your password. So just like email, you can give anyone your Bitcoin public address and then anyone, anywhere in the world can send you some Bitcoin. They don’t need to know anything about you. All they need is that public address and they can send money to you. Your Bitcoin private key on the other hand is the one thing you must protect. It’s called your private key for a reason because you should never reveal this to anyone. If someone gets your email password, that’s bad because they can start sending emails from your address, but that’s not quite as bad as someone getting your Bitcoin private key because then they can steal all of your Bitcoins by sending them somewhere else. And just like email, once a Bitcoin transaction has been sent, it’s a one way trip. The only way to get it back would be for the person you sent it to to voluntarily send it back. Bitcoin literally works like digital cash. Once you’ve handed it over, the Bitcoin belongs to that other person. And the same goes for when you receive Bitcoin. Once someone sends it to you, it’s yours and no one can take it from you. The only way they could do that is if they knew your private key. And of course now you know never to give this to anyone.

There are several types of wallets that provide different ways to store and access your digital currency. Wallets can be broken down into three distinct categories – software, hardware, and paper. Software wallets can be a desktop, mobile or online. Desktop: wallets are downloaded and installed on a PC or laptop. They are only accessible from the single computer in which they are downloaded. Desktop wallets offer one of the highest levels of security however if your computer is hacked or gets a virus there is the possibility that you may lose all your funds. Online: wallets run on the cloud and are accessible from any computing device in any location. While they are more convenient to access, online wallets store your private keys online and are controlled by a third party which makes them more vulnerable to hacking attacks and theft. Mobile: wallets run on an app on your phone and are useful because they can be used anywhere including retail stores. Mobile wallets are usually much smaller and simpler than desktop wallets because of the limited space available on a mobile. Hardware: wallets differ from software wallets in that they store a user’s private keys on a hardware device like a USB. Although hardware wallets make transactions online, they are stored offline which delivers increased security. Hardware wallets can be compatible with several web interfaces and can support different currencies; it just depends on which one you decide to use. What’s more, making a transaction is easy. Users simply plug in their device to any internet enabled computer or device, enter a pin, send currency and confirm. Hardware wallets make it possible to easily transact while also keeping your money offline and away from danger. Paper: wallets are easy to use and provide a very high level of security. While the term paper wallet can simply refer to a physical copy or printout of your public and private keys, it can also refer to a piece of software that is used to securely generate a pair of keys which are then printed. Using a paper wallet is relatively straightforward. Transferring Bitcoin or any other currency to your paper wallet is accomplished by the transfer of funds from your software wallet to the public address shown on your paper wallet. Alternatively, if you want to withdraw or spend currency, all you need to do is transfer funds from your paper wallet to your software wallet. This process, often referred to as ‘sweeping,’ can either be done manually by entering your private keys or by scanning the QR code on the paper wallet. How Bitcoin Works. (Technical)

05:26
Smartcard security for your Bitcoins - http://ledgerwallet.org How does Bitcoin work? This is a question that often causes confusion. Here's a quick explanation! The basics for a new user As a new user, you can get started with Bitcoin without understanding the technical details. Once you have installed a Bitcoin wallet on your computer or mobile phone, it will generate your first Bitcoin address and you can create more whenever you need one. You can disclose your addresses to your friends so that they can pay you or vice versa. In fact, this is pretty similar to how email works, except that Bitcoin addresses should only be used once. Balances - block chain The block chain is a shared public ledger on which the entire Bitcoin network relies. All confirmed transactions are included in the block chain. This way, Bitcoin wallets can calculate their spendable balance and new transactions can be verified to be spending bitcoins that are actually owned by the spender. The integrity and the chronological order of the block chain are enforced with cryptography. Transactions - private keys A transaction is a transfer of value between Bitcoin wallets that gets included in the block chain. Bitcoin wallets keep a secret piece of data called a private key or seed, which is used to sign transactions, providing a mathematical proof that they have come from the owner of the wallet. The signature also prevents the transaction from being altered by anybody once it has been issued. All transactions are broadcast between users and usually begin to be confirmed by the network in the following 10 minutes, through a process called mining. _________________________________________________________ See also bitcoin smartcard ledger wallet nano: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ss7xnFP9AM _________________________________________________________ Don't forget Subsribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-K35rC3yZRiL4kCsua812g _________________________________________________________ This video: http://youtu.be/jFgDfEawAVU

HOW TO GET A BITCOIN WALLET - Safe and Secure Way

06:20
SET UP YOUR COINBASE ACCOUNT: https://goo.gl/mWo1aM HOW TO EARN WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY: BEGINNER’S GUIDE https://goo.gl/nTDLgS ----- Today we’re talking about how to make your own Bitcoin wallet (and also a wallet for any other cryptocurrency). Now there are a lot of ways to get a Bitcoin wallet – you could have a piece of paper, a thumb drive, and different kinds of online wallets, but today I’m going to show you the MOST SAFE and MOST EASY one to use. First, follow the link above and create an account on CoinBase (and cool thing is you’ll get $10 in Bitcoin after you spend $100 on Bitcoin). Once your account is setup you’ll have a wallet ready to go, but this isn’t exactly safe yet. Hit ‘New Account’ and click ‘Vault’. Basically, what a vault is it’s something that slows down the selling process by sending out verification notices to all your linked devices in the span of two days. So, let’s say your account was compromised but all your money was stored in a vault – if whoever got into your account tries to send it somewhere else, you’ll receive emails and texts within the next 48 hours saying you have to verify that issued that transfer, if it wasn’t you, just say it wasn’t and you’ll lose nothing at all. So, when setting up your vault you need to add a primary and secondary email PLUS a phone number (verification messages will be sent out during the initial setup to confirm these are really your accounts, tedious, yes, but just goes to show how protected it all is!). Once everything is set up, just head over to your Bitcoin Vault and hit ‘Deposit’ and put in whatever amount you want to keep safe. It’s that simple and it’s 100% secure. If you’re interested in buying cryptocurrencies I have a COMPLETELY FREE GUIDE – specifically designed for beginners, but with tips even more experienced individuals might’ve not known – on how to NOT LOSE MONEY and get in on the cryptocurrency game: https://goo.gl/nTDLgS ----- CHECK OUT OUR OTHER VIDEOS: HOW TO BUY BITCOIN FOR BEGINNER’S: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-OJwj5nNco HOW TO BUY ETHEREUM FOR BEGINNER’s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b6lQ5WNqGA ----- CHECK OUT OTHER VIDEOS FROM THIS PLAYLIST: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... ----- SOME SIMILAR VIDEOS AVAILABLE: What Is A Bitcoin Wallet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD-vWx3oA84 Top 5 Best Cryptocurrency Wallets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI0OsEL92_0 ----- SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJA7J3DqZN76PKx31Q_YHUQ FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/buildapreneur/ ----- Bitcoin Wallet, What is a Bitcoin Wallet, Bitcoin Wallet Safe, How To Get A Bitcoin Wallet, Bitcoin Account Sign Up, Coinbase Bitcoin, Bitcoin, Best Bitcoin Wallet, Best Online Bitcoin Wallet, Bitcoin Wallet Review

Bitcoin 101 - Intro to Paper Wallets & Cold Storage - Bitcoin Security & Fun with Sloppy Wallets

26:57
Bitcoin security? UGH!!! Bitcoin does so many things better than banks (trusts, escrows, programmable money, cheap transfers, instant accounts, etc.), but one area that is not quite so nice, is security. While the bitcoin network, itself, appears bullet-proof, lots of bitcoins are being stolen, via hacking, malware and flaws in online wallets and even google's random number generator. The answer is to get your bitcoins entirely offline, and the two ways to do this are paper wallets and cold storage. This video is an introduction to making both. Host, James D'Angelo, walks you through the software and ideas used in making 'sloppy' offline wallets (which are great to have). He also gives suggestions at making even better offline wallets. This is the first of many videos we will make on bitcoin security, and the least technical. We hope you'll enjoy. Here's the private keys we generate in this video with their public addresses! PRIVATE KEY #1 (we sent one dollar to this one on Jan 5th) 5KNhmaUuPNeau7KptEhWefEcAwfMim8VABR6QhJH8JHAFBbnCe5 PUBLIC ADDRESS 17SwcawAtnCQmemPDDBGurd28tTbEbuK5z You can see it live here https://blockchain.info/address/17SwcawAtnCQmemPDDBGurd28tTbEbuK5z PRIVATE KEY #2 (we didn't send any funds to this one) 5J2VYxJsAktgLZ7PWNevxAEPFaKPftCYhyi1VxMHzT56kLTwtLY PUBLIC ADDRESS #2 19ZxxVTac6zxH9a9xqXhtntepTLosFa8F9 You can see it live here https://blockchain.info/address/19ZxxVTac6zxH9a9xqXhtntepTLosFa8F9 These keys will work forever, and are open wallets. You can play with them, send tiny amounts of bitcoins (very tiny because the funds in these wallets are spendable by anyone because the private key is public) and you can even withdraw the funds in them if there is still some left!!! nice. 3 of the BEST Bitcoin Wallets

3 of the Best Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrency Wallets Get $10 of free bitcoin as a new Coinbase using this referral link https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a14bfa7e149ab02033d374b Product links ------------------------------ Ledger Nano S: http://amzn.to/2EjGY4I Trezor Wallet: http://amzn.to/2Cd7x5u Coinbase Software Wallet: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a14bfa7e149ab02033d374b ------------------------------ The Best Bitcoin Exchange ------------------------------ Buy Bitcoins with Coinbase: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a14bfa7e149ab02033d374b See terms in referral link to qualify for $10 of free bitcoin. ------------------------------ 3 questions to ask yourself to find the best cryptocurrency wallet: 1.) What coins are you interested in? -- The three picks on my shortlist all have integrations to work with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many of the other major alt coins. But not all cryptocurrency wallets work with all cryptocurrencies. You’ll need to determine which cryptocurrencies you’ll be buying and selling to chip away at the long list of options available in the market. 2.) Do you want a hardware wallet or a software wallet? -- This is actually more a question of how much security do you require for your cryptocurrency wallet? Hardware wallets offer the most complex and robust security of any type of bitcoin wallet. That’s because the physical hardware device must be connected to a computer or smartphone to execute a transaction. The downside is hardware wallets offer less flexibility compared to software wallets, such as online services offered through the Coinbase exchange. These deeper integrations do make most software wallets more useful in more scenarios, whether you’re trading coins or making purchases online. 3.) What’s your budget – You’ll have to shell out some dough, upwards of $100 in some cases, to get the most robust security that’s offered with hardware wallets. Software wallets, on the other hand, are mostly free. Types of cryptocurrency wallets: Hardware wallet -- Most hardware wallets utilize a USB connection to store your private keys. They offer the highest level of security since your information is stored offline. Hardware wallets still offer simple capabilities for transactions, but note that the wallet must be connected to a computer to make a transaction. The reduced flexibility is simply a tradeoff of holding cryptocurrency offline. Software wallet -- Usually a cloud-based interface on your computer or mobile device. They are less secure than hardware wallets since your information is stored online and can be susceptible to hacks. Software wallets are available on Mac OS and iOS enabled devices, as well as Windows and Linux, and across types of internet browsers. Paper wallet -- Consider a paper wallet the stock certificates of cryptocurrencies. A paper wallet will generally include a QR code that can be scanned and transferred to a software wallet when wanting to make a transaction. Otherwise, a paper wallet is simply a physical printout of your public and private keys.

It’s the private address that you want to keep from exposing to potential hackers by keeping your computer offline while this is being displayed because it is the private key that allows you to withdraw the funds. Print out this page, make a copy just in case, or write it down, both the public and private keys or addresses and store somewhere very safe. Now when you are ready to move your bitcoin or you want to cash out, you can do this by creating a free account with blockchain.info. All you need is an email and password. Once you are signed up they will send you an email with your wallet ID, now this is very important because you’ll need this ID to log into this account. With your brand new account you’ll need to go to the settings menu and under the security options be sure to back up your account with the wallet recovery phrase. This will allow you to still gain access to your funds even if you forget your password. Once you’ve written down your recovery phrase store this in a safe place much like you would your private key for your paper wallet. How you import your paper wallet onto your blockchain.info account. Go to Settings and then select the addresses option. Here you can Import addresses. Now pay attention. In order to import your paper wallet you’ll need to type in the PRIVATE address of your paper wallet. It is for this reason that I highly suggest that you take out all coins from the paper wallet as the private key has essentially been compromised. Even if you want to continue storing some of your bitcoin on a paper wallet, just create a new paper wallet and store them there. Discontinue use of any paper wallet that has had it’s private key used anywhere on the internet. You can do so by getting your blockchain.info wallet address by selecting the “receive” option here, copy the address and then go to the “send” option and select the wallet you’d like to send coins from, and paste the address of the blockchain.info wallet. So you will have effectively imported your paper wallet and transferred all of your funds out of that paper wallet address and onto your blockchain.info wallet, the same wallet that is now backed up with your recovery phrase. Congratulations! Whenever you want to send coins from one wallet to another, this includes exchanges, since the coins you have on an exchange are in a wallet on that exchange… you’ll need to follow this general protocol. Three very important tips for anyone new to transferring their crypto: First, be sure the wallet you are sending your coins to is appropriate for the coins you are sending, you cannot send ethereum into a bitcoin address, or pivx to a Monero address, or steem to a steem backed dollar address. If you do this your coins will be lost. Second, be sure you input the correct address into the recipient field. I know most crypto addresses have a lot of upper and lower case letters and numbers and they can be daunting to look at at first, so I always double check the first few characters and the last few characters to be sure that I’m sending my coins to the right address. Third, if you need to transfer a large amount of coins and you’re nervous because it’s your first time transferring that particular coin or it’s your first time using that particular address, just send a small amount first. Once you see that it’s gone through then you can have some peace of mind that you can send the larger amount successfully.

Bitcoin Mining Complete Guide & Tutorial (EASIEST METHOD Working 2018)

04:48
Video tutorial/guide showing how to start mining Bitcoins from home super simple and easily, for beginners, or advanced users, using NiceHash. Bitcoins are a cryptocurrency, like Litecoins and Ethereum which offer an anonymous form of digital currency. This video will show you how to setup a bitcoin wallet, download and install the mining program (nicehash), link it up to your wallet using the bitcoin address, and use the optimal algorithm for mining the most bitcoins and earning the money. Mining these Bitcoins is a way to introduce new bitcoins into the world, as well as verify transactions occurring in the blockchain. You can earn bitcoins and money, by mining at home from your very own PC computer. I also include some tips which helped me mine! Techlore Website: http://www.techlore.tech My Video Equipment (Affiliate Link): https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer20170928875 Instagram: @techlemur Discord: https://discord.gg/sdMv9Zj Minds: https://www.minds.com/Techlore DTube: https://d.tube/#!/c/techlore *ATTENTION* Nicehash has updated their program and the UI is very different from this video. I made an updated video so you can all follow along. Here is the link. Use the new program with Nvidia Cards: UPDATED VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnAjCMb_uEg Coinbase Link: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5942e0b5d26ede03db311893 NiceHash Link: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=nhmintro You should mine with a powerful Graphics Card (GPU), and only on desktop computers (Not laptops). You need a bitcoin wallet like Coinbase, and you will need NiceHash. Make sure to benchmark your algorithms to get the most amount of bitcoins. Bitcoin mining is the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions or blockchain. This ledger of past transactions is called the block chain as it is a chain of blocks. The block chain serves to confirm transactions to the rest of the network as having taken place. Bitcoin nodes use the block chain to distinguish legitimate Bitcoin transactions from attempts to re-spend coins that have already been spent elsewhere.

Blockchain tutorial 29: Hierarchical Deterministic wallet - BIP32 and BIP44

25:55
This is part 29 of the Blockchain tutorial. In this video series different topics will be explained which will help you to understand blockchain. It is recommended to watch each video sequentially as I may refer to certain Blockchain topics explained earlier. DETERMINISTIC WALLET BIP-39 describes how the mnemonic words are created. These mnemonic words together with a password (optionally) are used to generate a 512 bit seed. The 512 bit seed is also called the "BIP-39 seed". This seed is used to create deterministic wallets. There are two types of deterministic wallets: - Sequential deterministic wallets. - Hierarchical deterministic wallets. SEQUENTIAL DETERMINISTIC WALLET Sequential deterministic wallets generates private keys for example by taking SHA256(seed + n) HIERARCHICAL DETERMINISTIC WALLET Nowadays most wallets are Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) wallets. More information: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki Most HD wallet vendors have implemented BIP-32, BIP-39 and BIP-44. These 3 Bitcoin Improvement Proposals are becoming an industry standard. BIP-39 BIP-39 describes the implementation of mnemonic words to generate a 512 bit seed. More information: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039.mediawiki BIP-32 BIP-32 describes how you can build a general hierarchical deterministic wallet. More information: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-guide#hierarchical-deterministic-key-creation If you want to see how BIP32 is implemented in the bitcoinjs library, see: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bitcoinjs/bitcoinjs-lib/master/src/hdnode.js Online web application: https://www.mobilefish.com/download/ethereum/hd_wallet.html BIP-32 explains how master keys and master chain code are created from a BIP-39 seed. The chain code is used as entropy in the Child Key Derivation function. Using different index numbers will create different unlinkable child keys from the same parent keys. Repeating the procedure for the child keys using the child chain code will create unlinkable grandchild keys. By changing the chain code, a new node (aka wallet) is created. Extended private (xprv) keys can create a complete branch with child private keys and child public keys Extended public (xpub) keys can only generate public keys. BIP-44 BIP-44 defines a specific logical hierarchy for deterministic wallets based on an algorithm described in BIP-32. More information: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0044.mediawiki BIP-44 uses the following derivation path: m/purpose'/coin_type'/account'/change/address_index The letter m denotes the master node and all hierarchical levels are separated with slashes (/). m is level 0, purpose is level 1, coin_type is level 2 etc. The purpose scheme is described in BIP-43. Because we are using BIP44 scheme we should use 44'. The apostrophe (for example in purpose') indicates hardened derivation. More information: https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/blob/master/slip-0044.md account level can be seen as bank account types, for example payment account, savings account etc. change level is also known as "external / internal level" where external (0) is used for addresses that are meant to be visible outside of the wallet (receiving payments) and internal (1) is used for addresses which are not meant to be visible outside of the wallet (signing transactions). address_index is a sequence of addresses starting at 0. BIP-44 XPRV AND XPUB DEMONSTRATION Suppose a webshop wants to receive payments in only in ETH. For each payment received a different Ethereum address must be used. The webshop should use a wallet containing only public keys. The webshop wallet uses a xpub key with derivation path: m/44'/60'/0'/0 This wallet creates the following addresses: m/44'/60'/0'/0/0 m/44'/60'/0'/0/.. The accounting department uses another wallet containing the same public keys AND accompanied private keys. The accounting department can transfer payments made on these public addresses and transfer it to a separate accounting address. This is possible because they have access to the private keys. The accounting department wallet uses a xprv key with the same derivation path: m/44'/60'/0'/0 BIP-32 RISK If a hacker gets it hands on any child private key and the account xpub key, the hacker can recompute the account xprv key and thus have access to every private and public key descending from the account level.
